The Internet can be a wonderful thing. I'm constantly amazed by the doors it opens all over the world. I regularly shop in the US without having to leave home. Ummmm perhaps I should keep that quiet in case Customs and Excise see it.

I talk to people all over the world and I now have very good friends that I'll probably never meet, but heck, you never know.

This year I'm even more confused. You see on February 4th this year I walked into my local hospital fully able and came out an hour later 'disabled'.

Good God! I hear you say, what on earth did they do? Can you sue?

Started 3 years ago by Diary of a Goldfish, each year it goes from strength to strength with people from all walks of life posting interesting articles about their view of living with some sort of illness or disability, caring for the same or just people who care.

When I posted my blog last year I was in the last group. Since Feb 4th this year I've suddenly been transported to the first group. It's been an interesting transformation.

If you'd like to join in on the day, go register your blog site with the Goldfish.

I was reading through some back posts on other people's blogs and came across an item from November 2006 by Jack Pickard entitled Bigotry in the UK where he talks about those who seem to feel that they are so secure in their public idolatry that they can treat everyone else with disdain.

What got me motivated to write was Jack's mention of Mike Newell, the then boss of struggling Luton Town Football Club, and his sexist comments about female game officials. This is one of those examples where you can honestly say, "it's not like the old days", and be pretty sure you're not just looking back with rose coloured specs.

Yes, it's the newest thing in web design. All you have to do is nip over to the W3C site and find the page with all the W3C Valid badges.

Don't worry about the License agreement and terms of use:....... Just grab a few and then liberally slap them over your page. If your site happens to have the same colour scheme then so much the better but even if it doesn't, a few strategically placed icons can make all the difference.

Personally I think this is a cheap way of getting backlinks and I'm thinking of charging for it.

Sort of PPM (Pay per Meme).

This one made me laugh out loud. Whoever did it is definitely a developer who has struggled with accessible, semantic, valid sites and the hassles of Internet Explorer. Mystery artist, I feel your pain.

I hate Internet Explorer and take every opportunity to get people to switch.

Why? Well apart from the accessibilty issues, and the standards issues, and the security issues, and the lack of update issues with IE, I just lurve the Firefox logo. It's one of the first things that springs to mind when people say the words "Web 2".
