How not to build web sites….. Part 2
In my last post on this matter How not to build web sites, I listed a few of the things that really drive me nuts but it’s always good to have a few graphic examples for those that are not convinced.

Worldwide Accessibility enforcement?
A successful case of discrimination has been brought against a United States training company by a United Kingdom citizen with a disability.
It seems that US companies can be successfully sued under the UK Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) if they routinely provide goods and/or services to people in the UK, whether they have a physical presence in the UK or not.

How not to build web sites
I moderate on a couple of fora, one of which is aimed at the beginner end of web design. I have to say we’ve had some success leading newbies from the excesses of FrontPage button pushing disasters to some pretty nice CSS layouts, complete with Doctype, that validate. As more and more people jump on the web design bandwagon however, the fight goes on.
I’ve lost count of the number of people who turn up on there asking for help, who freely admit that they’ve just started a new job looking after a company site and have no idea where to start.

Mangling the English Langwich
I blame text. I was going to let the education system off until I saw an article about schools in New Zealand allowing text speak in exams. Given the appalling spelling seen across the web, some of which admittedly can be put down to poor typing skills, things can only get worse. At least when schools tried to make kids write and spell properly we had a chance of understanding the results but now?
